Psalm for Students

May your speech be short and without a stutter,
May wisdom suffuse every word you utter.
May free coffee find its way to your hands,
When your whole class is lost, may you understand.
Let your bluff be believable and your teacher be kind,
Let all that you’ve learned remain in your mind.
Let your focus be sharp as your pencil’s lead,
Let calm chase the dread right out of your head.
As you face this week of blood, sweat, and tears,
Refuse to surrender yourself to fear.
Let the race of anxieties suddenly cease;
Your mind be focused, your heart be at peace.
